History Of TCRC

TCRC was a brainchild responding to the needs of Todmorden which has no free meeting rooms and no way community and not for profit groups can interact.It has been set up as a social hub offering a free room with internet access and computer equipment printer etc.

Opened in October 2012 has seen our original thoughts of 12 hours per week mainly in the evenings simply blown out of the water. We have group’s morning afternoon evening and weekend and now have firm bookings in excess of 20 hours per week.

The initial project was funded to run 9 months however the success mean TCRC will need funds well before this. With the help of Big Lottery Fund, Todmorden Town Council and Calderdale Community Foundation and most importantly the kind donations of the local Todmorden people we are now alive and providing a much needed meeting room in 2016—still free to those who can’t afford to pay room hire but happy to accept donations.

We now have over 40 groups per month with a footfall of over 350 and increasing. Used as the ‘mission control’ for such events as Lamplighter Festival and Todmorden Food Festival we welcome groups wanting space for Todmorden Events.
